Neenah

Neenah is a city in Winnebago County on the western shore of Lake Winnebago, where the Fox River begins its run north through the Fox Cities toward Green Bay. With a population of around 27,000, it sits directly adjacent to Menasha and anchors the southern end of the Fox Cities metro. The city built considerable wealth through the paper industry in the late 1800s and early 1900s, and that history is still visible in the lakefront estate homes, the downtown commercial architecture, and the civic institutions that paper money funded over generations.

Downtown Neenah runs along the Fox River and connects directly to Riverside Park and the lakefront, giving the commercial core genuine water adjacency that most Fox Cities downtowns lack. The park system along Lake Winnebago provides residents with boat launches, beaches, and trail access to the largest inland lake in Wisconsin. The historic neighborhoods near the downtown and lakefront carry some of the more distinctive residential architecture in the region, drawing buyers who want character and history in the structure itself rather than a new build.
