Menasha

Menasha is a city in Winnebago County at the northern tip of Lake Winnebago, where the lake narrows and feeds into the upper Fox River. Lake Winnebago is the largest inland lake in Wisconsin, covering roughly 137,700 acres, and Menasha's position at its outlet puts the city at one of the more active water corridors in the state. The downtown core sits on Doty Island, a genuine island in the Fox River, giving Menasha a geographic distinction that few Wisconsin cities can match. Water is not a backdrop here. It is the structure the city is built around.

Doty Island's downtown has seen steady reinvestment, with riverfront parks, the Menasha Riverwalk, and a mix of local businesses anchoring a commercial core that connects directly to the water. The broader park system includes direct Lake Winnebago access for boating, fishing, and seasonal recreation, and the Fox River Trail connects Menasha to the broader Fox Cities trail network running through Appleton and beyond. Menasha sits directly adjacent to Neenah to the west, and the two cities share infrastructure, geography, and a combined identity in the regional conversation often referred to as the Fox Cities Twin Cities.
