Kevin Barry

Kevin Barry is hard to miss. At 6'5" and built like an NFL offensive lineman, because he was one, he tends to make an impression before he says a word. What surprises people is what comes after that first impression.

Growing up in Racine, Kevin was named the 1996 Racine County Player of the Year and Wisconsin State Player of the Year before playing college ball at Hutchinson Community College and the University of Arizona. He signed with the Packers as a free agent in 2002 and appeared in 59 games over five seasons. If you watched Packers football in that era, you may remember the "U-Bacon" formation, a heavy offensive package that John Madden made famous on national television. The extra lineman in that package was Kevin, wearing number 71.

After football he coached youth athletes and worked with kids with differing abilities. Then he built Own the Night, a party bus company, because apparently one career was not enough. Before every Packers home game, Kevin and his business partner Adam throw a tailgate party. He has been doing it for years and still gets more excited about it than anyone in the parking lot.

The football career is the first thing people notice. The size is the second. The third, and the one that sticks, is how much he genuinely cares about the people around him.
